Google Calendar, Google Classroom, and Google Sites

Hello!

I found a trick today that I would like to share with all of you regarding how to add ONE Google Calendar onto your Google Sites that has all of your assignments due for ALL of your classes in Google Classroom.

So it is easy to add a Google Calendar into your Google Sites. And if you have been using Google Classroom, you know a Google Calendar is automatically created for each of your classes. But when you go into Google Sites to add the calendar, you are left with only two easy choices. You can add each individual calendar for each of your classes or you can add your own personal calendar but that will allow everyone access to all of your private information as well.

WELL - I figured out a way you can add ONE calendar into your Google Sites that shows the data from only the calendars you want.

Here are the steps:

  2. Click on the gear icon
  3. Click Settings
  4. On the left-hand side, select the arrow that is right beside Add Calendar. Select New Calendar
  5. Give your calendar a name and then click Create Calendar. Wait for it to do its magic.
  6. Scroll down to make sure it is set to PUBLIC by sliding over the tab
  7. Click Configure or go back to calendar.google.com. Find the calendar you just created and click on the three vertical dots.
  8. Select Settings and Sharing
  9. Scroll down to where you find a button that says Customize right after Embed Code
  10. Click Customize. On the left-hand side, you will see all of your calendars. Click on the box for each calendar you would like to be displayed. You can also put a border around it, change the colors, and a few more if you want.
  11. CLICK ON UPDATE HTML at the very top.
  12. Copy the entire code
  13. Go to your Google Sites where you want the calendar to be displayed
  14. Double Click so the round circle appears. Select Embed
  15. Click on the Embed Code tab and paste in the HTML Code
  16. Resize the calendar if needed.
