TEACHER PD DIGITAL ESCAPE ROOM

I have had a few teachers ask how I create the digital escape rooms so I thought I would share with all of you.      There are MANY different ways to create one. I have seen some wonderful ones created simply from Google Forms, a single Google Site or website, Canva or Thinglink, and on DeckToys. What I am sharing with you is simply how I like to create them. (However, I do feel like stretching out and maybe trying to create an Augmented Reality digital escape room this summer.) Here is my video: LINK Here is a link to my digital escape rooms I have created so far: LINK      Here is a link to other sources when it comes to creating a digital escape room that I would recommend taking a look into. Teacher Tech Tok: Seeking out opportunities for micro PD

Have you started to use TikTok? If not, give it a try (warning - it is addictive). This is the new trend sweeping the nation with many educators jumping on board. On the blog DitchThatTextbook, Lindsay Zilly has written an excellent article over the benefits of using TikTok in the education world. She first starts by explaining different viewpoints with regards to the app and then explains how she uses the ISTE standards to create her own content. Next, she provides a slideshow of educators she believes everyone should follow as they have great PD content. Lindsay Zilly then goes further by showing how it can be used in the classroom safely and effectively. Her solution? Use a Google Slides template that mimics TikTok videos and have students use it to create their own. At the very bottom, Lindsay concludes by showing three other trends she has been playing with. These include: Snap & Chat , Jimmy Fallon, and Schitt’s Creek Chat .

TeacherMade is getting even better! You can now add Audio and Hyperdocs to your worksheets and assignments. (if you are unfamiliar with TeacherMade, take a look - it is great!) DIGITAL Blackout Poetry - During the month of April, many teachers like to have their students create a project where they black out words on a page leaving behind a poem. This site allows you to do the activity but digitally, saving paper. Google Slide Trick - Have you spent a lot of time designing a text feature in Google Slide and want to use it on another text box? Use the paint roller! Simply select the text box, double click the paint roller twice, go to another box and click in it. It will automatically update to match your first one. RICH TEXT IN GOOGLE CLASSROOM IS HERE!

Have you seen it! In Google Classroom, you can now use Bold, Italic, underlines, and bullet points. This was something many people have been waiting for. It makes it easier to compose a post, assignment, or material in a way to spotlight the important features for students. But that is not all! Other new changes to be aware of includes: Students can now save their progress on a Google Form. This is still in the Beta form so you will need to sign up if you are interested in trying this out. What it will do is to automatically save a person’s progress when they are filling out a Google Form. They will no longer need to start all over or worry about finishing it in one sitting. This is great for those times when the internet cuts out, a Chromebook dies, or you want to give students two parts of an assessment on the same form.  You can also now find files easier in Google Drive with the addition of new file search options now available. You can now search for a file by “from,” “to,” “share

Kidz Type was created specifically for elementary or very beginners and includes many fun games for them to play while they learn. April Fools Day Videos I know this is a few days late but still wanted to share with you a blog post by Eric Curtis full of April Fools Day videos you can use with your students. Many of them co
